Federal police today raided the headquarters of Brazil’s state-run oil company Petroleo Brasileiro, better known as Petrobras.
The company said that a delegate and three federal police officers were received by the CEO of Petrobras, Maria das Graças Silva Foster, in a meeting room.
According to the Petrobras statement, the oil company received a court order to deliver documentation on a ‘specific contract’. The company did not provide more details, but added it immediately fulfilled the court order.
Reuters, which cited two sources with direct knowledge of the operation, said the raid was part of a money laundering investigation.
