PSA inspects COSL Drilling Europa

During the period 6 to 9 January 2014, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA) carried out an audit of COSL Drilling Europa AS (COSL), within the disciplines of logistics and occupational health and safety.

The objective of the audit was to verify compliance with the regulatory requirements and the preconditions for issuing Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in the disciplines of logistics and occupational health and safety.

Non-conformities were identified in connection with:

– mapping and risk assessment

– measures aimed at, and follow-up of, noise, chemicals and ergonomics

In addition, improvement points were identified in connection with:

– employee participation

– coordination between HSE staff

– logistics planning

– pipe handling deck

– emergency operation of lifting equipment

– hose stations

– control and testing of unsecured lifting equipment

– proficiency certification of unsecured lifting equipment

– sea fastening

– speakers in crane cabins
