PSA Releases Report Statoil’s Gudrun Handling (Norway)

PSA's Report on Audit of Statoil's Gudrun (Norway) (2)

During the periods 14 May and 13-15 June 2012, the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway (PSA), conducted an audit of Statoil’s facilitation of working environment and material handling in the design and construction of the Gudrun facility.

The objective of the audit activity was to follow up how Statoil ensures requirements for facilitation of working environment and material handling factors are established, implemented and followed up in the project.

The PSA said it had identified nonconformities were identified in relation to Staffing and expertise; Follow-up and activity management at the construction site; Access for operation and maintenance of equipment; Working environment analyses.

Furthermore, improvement items were identified in relation to Offshore crane maintenance; Experience transfer; Lifting operations; Material handling of wet gas compact cooler.

The Gudrun field is a high-pressure/high temperature field located in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.  Water depth is about 110 metres. Gudrun will be developed with a facility with a steel jacket and first stage processing. It will be connected to Sleipner A through two pipelines; one for oil and one for rich gas.
