PV Shipyard to provide hull repairs for Seadrill’s jack-up rig

Vietnam’s PV Shipyard has won a contract to provide hull repairs and yard services for Seadrill’s West Ariel jack-up rig. The rig arrived in PV Shipyard’s jetty on April 1, 2014.

West Ariel jack-up rig was operating at the White Tiger Field, offshore Vietnam for Vietsovpetro JV before its arrival to PV Shipyard.

Seadrill yesterday announced that the rig, the Keppel FELS ‘B’ Class jack-up rig, had secured a new contract offshore Congo with ENI Congo SA. The contract is for a firm period of one year plus an option for another year. The total revenue potential for the primary contract term is approximately $89 million including an estimated $8.5 million of mobilization from Vietnam to Congo.

The rig will begin its new contract in late April or early May 2014.
