The company said in its Oslo Bors filing on Monday that its Rem Saltire vessel was awarded a “long-term contract by a large international offshore company.”

According to the information provided by Rem Offshore, the contract will begin in December 2018.

CEO of Rem Offshore, Fredrik Remøy, said: “The award of this significant contract in a challenging market demonstrates the competence of our organization, the skills of our marine crew and quality of our vessels.

“We are confident that Rem Saltire will serve our client and their end clients well, and contribute to their successful project execution.”

The vessel became a part of Rem’s fleet back in October 2017 when Forland Shipping sold the Forland Inspector and Fugro Saltire (renamed Rem Saltire) vessels to Nord Vest AS, a company run by Age Remoy, founder of REM Offshore.

The Fugro Saltire was supposed to stay under contract with Fugro until July 2018, but the contract was terminated, effective October 1.

The vessel was built in 2008 by Gr. BMV yards in Norway. The Cyprus-flagged Rem Saltire has a 1,000 square meter deck, a deadweight of 6,687mt, and a 150mt crane.
