Russia, China Discuss Joint Upstream Projects

Rosneft delegation led by Igor Sechin began its work in China on February 17. Rosneft President and Chairman of the Management Board Igor Sechin held a working meeting with Vice Premier of the People’s Republic of China Wang Qishan.

The parties discussed a broad range of issues related to increasing oil supplies to the People’s Republic of China as well as participation of companies in joint work in upstream and downstream projects in Russia and China.

Igor Sechin said: ‘I am glad we are proceeding with the realization of our plans. The work has continued since our previous meeting on December 4, 2012. We believe that the current working visit of the Russian delegation to China will contribute to the preparation process for the new round of energy dialogue and will also touch upon certain aspects of our cooperation’.

Igor Sechin also said the Russian delegation was ready to offer the Chinese side new forms of cooperation in production and transportation of hydrocarbons, including LNG.  In the next two days of the working visit Rosneft CEO is to hold talks with CNPC President Zhou Jiping, CNOOC Chairman Wang Yilin and with Sinopec management.
