Drydocks World announced today that it has won a US$ 100.4 million contract to build four Platform Supply Vessels (PSV), with option for four more units, for Tidewater Marine LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tidewater Inc., the world’s largest and most experienced provider of global marine support services for the offshore energy industry.
The vessels will be built at DDW-Nanindah shipyard at Batam in Indonesia and the first unit is targeted for delivery in 18 months time, followed by the rest every two months.
Each PSV will be constructed to Rolls Royce Marine’s design, UT755CDL and powered by Diesel Electric Propulsion. It will be 81.55 metres long, weigh 3,200 tons and will be equipped with a cargo deck measuring 670 square metres.

Under the terms of the contract, Tidewater Marine LLC has the option to place orders for four more PSV units to be built by DDW-Nanindah on the successful completion of the first four vessels.
The underlying strength of Drydocks World is the engineering capabilities which rely on proven processes and best practices within the industry. All shipyards have access to comprehensive design, drafting and project management facilities, supported by state-of-the-art hardware and software and skilled engineering personnel.
Some of the recent vessel deliveries that have highlighted the heavyweight construction and engineering capability of Drydocks World yards include Windermere, a subsea operation vessel and OSA Sampson and OSA Goliath, two of the world’s largest offshore construction vessels for Coastline Maritime. CSS Derwent, a Compact Semi-submersible subsea operation vessel for Hallin Marine is under construction.
Nanindah is one of the busiest ship-building yards in Asia and is widely recognised for its capabilities as an integrated maritime solutions provider in the Southeast Asia region. DDW also has three other ship yards, DDW-Singapore, DDW-Graha and DDW-Pertama in SEA, in addition to the Dubai shipyard. The facility in Singapore is a repair and new building yard, the shipyard at Graha is a dedicated rig building unit and the one at Pertama is a mixed-use yard.
