Solstad Farstad sells anchor handling trio to Brazilian Navy

Norwegian offshore shipping company Solstad Farstad has sold three of its anchor handlers to the Brazilian Navy in a deal worth approximately $24 million.

Norway’s newly-formed OSV provider has participated in a public auction in Brazil for the sale of three anchor handling tug and supply (AHTS) vessels to the Brazilian Navy, whereby the Brazilian Navy declared that Solstad Farstad had the best sales offer, the shipping company informed on Thursday.

Consequently, the Brazilian Navy has decided to acquire the three AHTS vessels Sea Fox, Sea Vixen and Sea Stoat from Solstad Farstad.

Total sales price is BRL 82.8 million, equal to $24 mill at the time of the auction, en bloc.

The Norwegian vessel owner added that expected delivery date to the new owner is in the fourth quarter of 2017.

When it comes to vessels, Sea Fox was built in 2010 and both Sea Vixen and Sea Stoat were built in 2011. All three vessels were built by ABG Shipyard LTD India.

Solstad Farstad sold another anchor handler, Far Shogun, in July this year. The vessel was later renamed Skandi Bergen.
