Solstad Offshore, a Norwegian offshore service and supply vessel provider, has sold one of its platform supply vessels (PSVs).

Solstad said in a statement on Wednesday that the vessel in question was the Normand Vester. The delivery of the vessel took place on the day of the announcement, April 26.

Further details regarding the sale, the financial terms and the name of the buyer, were left undisclosed by the Norwegian company.

According to Solstad, the sale will not have any impact of significance on accounting or the cash position of the owner company.

Regarding the vessel itself, the Normand Vester is of a UT 745 design and was built in 1998. The 84-meter long, 18-meter wide vessel has a deadweight of 4,587 tonnes and can accommodate 37 people.

The vessel has been in layup for a while now. Namely, after it completed a four-year contract with Petrobras in 2015, the Normand Vester was put in layup in Husoya, Norway.

In related news, the merger between Solstad Offshore and two other Norwegian offshore supply vessel providers, Farstad Shipping and Deep Sea Supply, has been cleared by all relevant competition authorities on Tuesday. The merger will create Solstad Farstad, a new OSV player in Norway with a fleet of 154 vessels.
