Canada’s Suncor Energy has expanded the company’s board of directors with the appointment of Michael Creel as a new director.
Suncor said on Tuesday that Creel’s appointment would be effective on January 1, 2017. This new appointment increases the number of directors on Suncor’s board to thirteen.

Along with deep business and financial acumen, he brings significant experience in finance, operations, and integrating companies after mergers and acquisitions. Before joining Suncor, Creel was the chief executive officer and director of the general partner of Enterprise Products Partners L.P. from 2010 to 2015. Enterprise Products Partners is a North American provider of midstream energy services and one of the largest publicly traded partnerships. Creel served in positions with increasing responsibility within the company since 1999.
Also, he was group vice chairman at Epco Inc., and executive vice president and chief operating officer at DEP Holdings LLC, a company engaged in natural gas liquids transportation, fractionation, marketing and storage, and petrochemical product transportation, gathering, and marketing. He was also president and chief executive officer at EPE Holdings LLC.
