Canadian oil company Talisman Energy now has a new name – Repsol Oil & Gas Canada.
The new name, effective January 1, 2016, reflects the change in the ownership structure of Talisman, as the company was bought in May 2015 by Repsol, the Spanish oil and gas giant, for $8.3 billion.
Talisman’s Canadian partnerships have also been renamed from Talisman Alberta Shale Partnership to Repsol Alberta Shale Partnership; from Talisman Wild River Partnership to Repsol Wild River Partnership; from Talisman Groundbirch Partnership to Repsol Groundbirch artnership; from Talisman Central Alberta Partnership to Repsol Central Alberta Partnership; and from Talisman Energy Canada to Repsol Canada Energy Partnership.
“Today’s announcement only affects the legal entities listed above. The names of all other heritage Talisman subsidiaries will remain unchanged until further notice,” reads a press release by the company.
