May: UK: Bond’s EC225 Helicopters Grounded

Bond Offshore Helicopters Ltd yesterday said it would continue the suspension of all EC225 helicopter flights. Bond, the provider of offshore helicopter transportation services between Aberdeen, Scotland and several North Sea oil platforms, cancelled all EC225 flights following the “controlled descent” of one of its helicopters into the North Sea, some 30 miles offshore Aberdeen

 

 

Apr: USA: NOV Buys Wilson from Schlumberger

National Oilwell Varco, Inc. has entered into an agreement with Schlumberger Limited to purchase its Wilson distribution business segment. Terms of the all-cash transaction, which remains subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approval, were not disclosed.

Petrobras, the state-controlled Brazilian oil giant, announces the result of the negotiation with Sete Brasil and Ocean Rig, which had submitted offers for the charter and operation of drilling rigs to be manufactured in Brazil.

 

Jan: Chevron-Operated Jack-up Rig Catches Fire Offshore Nigeria

Chevron Nigeria Limited, said it was working to contain a fire that ignited yesterday aboard the K.S. Endeavor, a drilling rig offshore Nigeria operated by FODE Drilling Nigeria Limited.
