Inpex Orders Offtake Tankers for Ichthys Offshore Project in Australia

Japan’s INPEX has announced two shipbuilding and shipping contracts for two new vessels which will offtake and deliver LNG from the Ichthys LNG Project offshore Western Australia to Japan and Taiwan. Through its wholly owned subsidiary INPEX Shipping Co., Ltd . (‘INPEX Shipping’), one LNG vessel will be jointly owned with Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha , Ltd . (‘” K” Line’) through Ocean Breeze LNG Transport S. A. and built by Mitsubishi Heavy Industries , Ltd.

In February 2011, Maersk Oil’s Gryphon FPSO suffered significant damage in heavy storms in the turbulent North Sea. After nearly 20 years of uninterrupted service, the FPSO had to leave the Gryphon field for the first time for repairs and upgrade. Last Wednesday, May 29, Maersk Oil announced that the FPSO was back in production.

 

Olympic Shipping Terminates Vessel Charter Deal with Reef Subsea

Olympic Shipping has announced it has terminated the previously agreed charter deal with Reef Subsea for a subsea construction vessel currently being built by Kleven Maritime in Norway.

 

Pirates Board Offshore Vessel In Nigeria. All Crew Safe

Pirates on Tuesday boarded an offshore supply vessel, 15.5 miles offshore from the Qua Iboe Terminal in Akwa Ibom State in southeastern Nigeria, the IMB Piracy Reporting Centre has informed.

 

SOCAR Orders $800Mln Semi-Submersible Rig from Keppel

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M) has, through its subsidiaries Caspian Rigbuilders BV and Caspian Shipyard Company (CSC), secured a contract from Caspian Drilling Company Ltd, a subsidiary of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), to build a semi-submersible drilling rig, which includes owner furnished equipment, worth about US$800 million.
