Topsides UK launch held in Aberdeen

Xcite Media, the company behind Europe’s “first and only oil and gas event focusing solely on topsides operations”, Topsides UK, are anticipating a successful 2016 event after launching to a full house.

According to Xcite Media’s press release, the jam packed Trinity Hall on Holburn Street, Aberdeen saw over 150 attendees hear from businesses already working collaboratively to harness the challenges currently facing the industry and to discuss opportunities to create value by enhancing production, maximising productivity and optimising cost efficiency.

John Hargreaves, managing director of engineering consultancy Peak Global and a member of The Alliance, a collaborative initiative of subject matter experts dedicated to improving operating and production efficiency, was delighted to be given the opportunity to present at the launch. Hargreaves commented on the evening, “An event such as this, which encourages businesses to work together to find cost effective ways of delivering their product to the market, bodes well for the longevity of the North Sea oil and gas industry. We now need to embrace this and convert all these positive discussions into workable measures to impact bottom line results.”

Gavin Esslemont, Director of Xcite Media and Oil and Gas consultancy Xcite Commercial adds, “The team at Xcite are hugely impressed by the turnout to this event and particularly the real appetite by the operators and the supply chain to work smarter. Delegates at the event provided real examples of where they are already working differently and this is testament to the industry recognising the need to create a more sustainable environment in which to do business.”

“This further underpins the desire for an event such as Topsides UK which turns the table on many events, focusing on the supply chain and their ability to directly influence the cost of capital projects and ongoing topsides operations. The interest in the exhibition and conference itself, which will be held in March 2016, has been significant with many high profile endorsements already secured from across the industry.”
