U.S. Offshore rigs at 55

According to the Baker Hughes’ Weekly Rig Count report, the U.S. offshore rig count is 55.

BHI Rig Count: U.S. + 15 to 1873 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is up 15 rigs from last week to 1873, with oil rigs up 13 to 1558, gas rigs up 3 to 314, and miscellaneous rigs down 1 to 1.

U.S. Rig Count is up 125 rigs from last year at 1748, with oil rigs up 168, gas rigs down 39, and miscellaneous rigs down 4.

The U.S. Offshore rig count is 55, down 4 rigs from last week, and down 1 rig year over year.
BHI Rig Count: Canada – 29 to 236 rigs

Canadian Rig Count is down 29 rigs from last week to 236, with oil rigs down 25 to 141, and gas rigs down 4 to 95.

Canadian Rig Count is up 30 rigs from last year at 206, with oil rigs down 7, and gas rigs up 37.

 

The Baker Hughes Rotary Rig Counts are counts of the number of drilling rigs actively exploring for or developing oil or natural gas in the United States, Canada and international markets. Baker Hughes has issued the rotary rig counts as a service to the petroleum industry since 1944, when Hughes Tool Company began weekly counts of US and Canadian drilling activity. Baker Hughes initiated the monthly international rig count in 1975.
