The First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Arbuzov has held a meeting with representatives of ExxonMobil.
During a meeting the parties discussed cooperation possibilities between Ukraine and ExxonMobil in the energy sector. The main point of the talks were preparations for the signing of the Production Sharing Agreements (PSA) at the Scythian area (Black Sea shelf).
The Ukrainian side underlined that the increase in domestic production of hydrocarbons is one of the priorities for the country.
Arbuzov said that Ukraine welcomed the arrival of serious investors willing to create new jobs, and thereby contribute to the development of the country’s economy. He expressed the country’s willingness to give assistance to such investors.
The representatives of ExxonMobil noted that Exxon appreciated the potential development of hydrocarbons in the Black Sea and was ready to apply the best possible practices in its operations in Ukraine.
To remind, in August of 2012 a consortium of companies led by ExxonMobil was chosen the winner for developing deepwater block Scythian. Other members of the consortium are Shell, OMV Petrom and Nadra Ukraine.
