Viking bags charter deal for AHTS Brage Viking

Viking Supply Ships has entered into a contract with an “oil major” for the ice-classed AHTS “Brage Viking”. 

The contract is starting April 1, 2015. The duration is for two years and eight months firm, plus options to extend the contract with a total of 18 months.

According to Viking, the contract necessitates certain investments in the region of $5-7 million, and the company expects around 4 weeks off hire for the yard stay.

The contract value including options is around $100 million.

The company further said that the contract reflects the area of operation, the ice-classed ship and the competencies of the Viking team regarding operations in ice.
