Viking Supply Ships to close Russian offices after teaming up with Sevnor

Swedish offshore vessel operator Viking Supply Ships (VSS) has entered into a strategic cooperation with Sevnor Ltd, a shipping and offshore company with presence in the Russian offshore market.

VSS said on Monday that, as a consequence of the deal, the company decided to close down its offices in Moscow and Sakhalin as all future operations in Russia would be run in cooperation with Sevnor.

The company added that it considers Russia, which holds significant oil and gas resources in its Arctic and Sub-arctic regions, a core region for its service offerings and of significant importance for the company in the future.

When it comes to its future, Viking in November concluded its financial restructuring providing the company with a stable financial platform until 2020.
