Vissim, Ross Offshore sign offshore surveillance deal

Vissim, the Norwegian integrated marine and offshore operations supplier, has recently signed a frame agreement with Ross Offshore Well Management Services to supply a remote offshore surveillance solution and monitoring services.

The 24/7 traffic surveillance of offshore installations will be performed in accordance with national and international standards and regulations and will provide Ross Offshore Well Management Services with offshore monitoring services for customers on the NCS.

The Vissim system is used to reduce the risk of collision and includes the option of monitoring oil spills.

“The solution will give us an option to provide our customers with a system for remote traffic surveillance in accordance with regulatory standards and enabling them to reduce the risk of collision at any location” says Jarle Magne Vespestad, VP Ross Marine & Logistics.

The remote surveillance will be supported by Vissim’s partner, Royal Dirkzwager in the Netherlands using the Vissim VTMS solution. Royal Dirkzwager provide a 24/7 control centre in Rotterdam, Maassluis with extensive experience and capabilities from the marine sector.
