VNG Norge awards IT services contract to Cegal

Exploration and production company VNG Norge has awarded a contract for providing IT operation services to Cegal, a Stavanger-based provider of IT and geoscience solutions for the oil and gas industry.

The deal includes the operation of all VNG Norge’s IT systems, as well as a range of petro-technical applications.

Poul Erik Jensen, Regional Manager in Cegal AS, said: “In the market we see today, contracts like the one we have just been awarded by VNG Norge are rare. VNG Norge has a strong focus on the Norwegian Continental shelf, and we are happy for the recognition this award represents, and to be able to join VNG Norge on their journey.”

VNG Norge, a subsidiary of the German importer and wholesaler of natural gas VNG AG, will during 2016 make the decision of concept selection for developing its Pil and Blu discovery on the Halten Terrace in the Norwegian Sea.

Jensen concluded by stating that VNG Norge has conducted a thorough process and has high expectations from Cegal as a partner.

“We are looking forward to start the collaboration,” Jensen concluded.
