WesternGeco keeps ‘Geco Bluefin’

WesternGeco, a Schlumberger subsidiary, has exercised option to extend the ‘Geco Bluefin’ vessel charter.

The vessel, owned by Norwegian shipping company Volstad, will stay with WesternGeco for  one more year from January 1, 2015 to December 2015.

Geco Bluefin is an 80 meters long DP II class seismic research vessel, doing Q-seabed seismic for Western Geco. Geco Bluefin was first built as the fishing vessel ”Inda”, in 1980, and converted into a seismic reaserch vessel in 1999.
