WorleyParsons scoops Pearl GTL deal with Shell (Qatar)

WorleyParsons has secured an Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM) services contract for the Shell’s Pearl Gas to Liquids (GTL) and associated facilities in Qatar.

Under the contract, WorleyParsons will provide EPCm services primarily for a portfolio of brownfield projects.

The five-year contract will be executed by WorleyParsons Qatar with support from WorleyParsons Global Delivery Center in India.

Pearl GTL is the world’s largest producer of GTL products, capable of producing 140,000 barrels of GTL products each day. The plant also produces 120.000 barrels per day of natural gas liquids and ethane. The onshore facility is fed by gas from two platforms — Pearl 1 and Pearl 2 — which operate 60 kilometers off the north-east coast of Qatar.

“WorleyParsons appreciates the confidence that Qatar Shell has shown in our local team. This award continues to build on our relationship with Shell in the region” said Andrew Wood, Chief Executive Officer of WorleyParsons.
